Suzanne Mah Woo first started training and competing with dogs at the age of 12 with her golden retriever. For her 13th birthday she received “CC” the Akita and continued to train and compete. When it came time to think about her future, it felt like a natural progression to aim for a Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Alberta. “After earning my degree I went to Texas to attend the Triple Crown Dog Academy for my dog training certification,” Suzanne says. “They had me train three of their dogs – two of which were rescues – because CC was so well-trained.”
CC and Suzanne together founded Metropawlitan Dog Training on the basis that all dogs can be as well-behaved and reliable as CC. “We would be invited into stores and cafes because she was so calm and obedient,” Suzanne says. “With CC, I went on to be the spokesperson and provincial and territorial evaluator for the therapy dog program for St. John Ambulance in Yellowknife.”
