Run Away...Very quickly
When I called the "dispatcher" I gave her the make and model of the door and advised her that it had a broken torsion spring. When the technician arrived he told my wife he had never seen a door like this before and the whole lifting system would need to be replaced and it would cost $650-$750 (in addition to the service call fee). This to repair/replace a broken torsion spring (which retails for $34.95). It is a standard Home Depot door, that they still sell. My wife advised the technician that the fee was a lot more than we were willing to pay and he took his $89.00 call-out fee and left. We had another firm come in and complete the repairs in an hour for a fraction of the quote from these folks.
