Hiromi Takahashi teaches yang-style tai chi chuan, one of the most popularly and widely-practiced form of martial arts in the world. Located on the second floor of a building on the busy Whyte Avenue strip, Hiromi’s Tai Chi Studio passes on the knowledge Hiromi has accrued since he began studying the art in the 1980s: “I was taught to be sensitive and aware, and that is what I teach,” he says.
For the uninitiated, tai chi is a series of controlled physical movements that has been handed down for thousands of years. The main concept is that softness can overcome hardness within the body.
