The Lobby

The Lobby’s owner Kevin Martin wants his small basement movie shop to be the last video store in Edmonton. So much so that he, along with a few other Edmonton-based filmmakers, have been working on a web-series and feature length movie called The Last Video Store, which pays homage to all of Kevin’s favourite film styles, from horror to sci-fi to kung fu. Though Edmonton still has one other video shop still in operation, the Movie Studio, Kevin notes that both video stores operate only blocks next to each other.

“Only in the Strathcona and Garneau neighbourhoods could video stores still thrive,” says Kevin.
