Jake Hastey started Toy Gun Dance Theatre with a small goal in mind. “Basically, I had a bunch of artwork that I wanted to create and the only way to do it was to create a company,” he explains. This personal goal quickly grew into something that involved the whole community. “When I started Toy Gun in 2013, there was an opportunity to create a company that could facilitate education, performance and high level artistic development in the city,” he adds.
As trained professional dancer, Jake is very qualified and also very passionate about dance. He began his career by performing at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and has since performed around the world. Thanks to his business, other dancers would find an opportunity to jumpstart their dreams, too.
