"Creativity, care and community" is how owner and president Rosemary Wallace describes the mission of Freedom Arts Collective in Langley.
"I very much believe that art connects community," she says. "Through the gallery and collective, I want to support local and emerging artists, as well as sharing my belief that everyone should feel free to paint."
The Freedom Arts Collective is the gallery part of ABC Fine Art Gallery. "It's a little complicated," laughs Rosemary, "but Toby Malek is the driving force behind ABC Fine Art. It offers framing, printing and scanning services for the public and artists. When I was looking for space for the collective's gallery, Toby was located just across the street. We entered into a mutually beneficial association and the gallery was able to take advantage of the ABC Fine Art website and presence that Toby had spent a long time developing, rather than starting from scratch."
