She is an extremely good -- very knowledgeable doctor -- and caring. She has been my specialist for several years. She is extremely organized and thorough. That is what I want in a heart specialist! You may not find her bedside manner to be the best (she is very serious and focused) however she is excellent - which at the end of the day -- all that matters. I would highly recommend her!!

Dr Surkes is an excellent, very precise specialist. Yes, she is abrasive and concentrates on the issue at hand not necessarily her bedside manner. Her attention to detail saved my husband's life! Wish the office wait was shorter, but we just phone first before leaving for an appointment to find out the wait time. All in all, an excellent, detail-oriented cardiologist.

Very abrasive, very tough to be comfortable around, and vey poor patient skills. I have a very tough time dealing with this lady. I generally am great with people, and even got this Dr to chuckle a couple times. Yet still the egotistical "know-it-all" sense when being talked down to by her is enough to make my blood boil. I did not feel at all that Dr. cared about my well being, just cared about being "right". Ironic how seeing a cardiologist can raise my blood pressure so much.
