Worst experience PT 1

Firstly I emailed him about one of Clay's (the salesman)cars, it was a good price and seemed very promising. He said it had no issues at all, and no rust either. But, once I got there I saw that the car was full of rust, the worst part was the windshield rust. He said that it could cheaply and easily be fixed, but once at the independent mechanic they said that the windshield would have to be repaired and that it would cost between 500 and 650$.

bought a car from them and the next day the car broke down.... port elgin auto sales was unwilling to co operate and insisted that it was drivers error... do not buy from this company, they have very poor customer service and don't stand up with their products. stay away from this dealer

Its not what it seems

We bought a '02 van from Port Elgin Auto Sales on Christmas Eve '09 on our second visit there. The owner seemed nice, had a nice garage, and a nice selection of vehicles with good prices. It had low km and seemed like a good deal at $3000. We test drove it and heard a hum but thought it to be just the winter tires. We even bought the powertrain Lubrico warranty. On our first oil change at Mr Lube, we were told the belts needed replaced. We bought them ($100) and took them to our local mechanic well known to be trustworthy. He informed us that the van was unsafe to drive and need $1500 of parts (not including labor). Ball joints, wheel bearing, etc, etc. I emailed the dealership telling him all about this. He did not reply. So. Unless you want to be royally ripped off, take the vehicle you are interested in to a mechanic and get it checked over good before buying.
