This is a place you don't want to go the service is a disgrace the attitude ruins your meal, Andrew the cook more or less tells you to go if he spent want to be bothered, we call on Mother's Day droves 2 hours after being assured they had beef ribs... When we got there he said I do not have any what can I do? There is non he was soo rude ignorant unprofessional and worse he didn't even cared go some place where you are treated with respect and you are valued as a customer or at least a person disgraceful
The Andrew cook that was in charge on the day my family and I went in was rude and very unprofessional. Didn't care about customers service and brushed us off like we didn't exist.
huge portions! a bit expensive for lunch thouh
I'm from Chicago and now live in Cincinnati. I have had BBQ in Chicago, Michigan, Indiana, St. Louis,Kansas City, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas and Florida, Kentucky and Ohio--and probably a few other places in the states I don't remember. I was on a business trip in Canada not far from Barrie and somebody suggested I go see how BBQ was done north of the border. I gotta say, INCREDIBLE!!!. I don't remember much about all the other BBQ places I've been to in the states, they were are fair to pretty good. But Big Chris's BBQ was AMAZING. I couldn't recommend it more. To all my fellow USA'ers, you ever find yourself near Barrie, Ontario-- you gotta check out Big Chris's BBQ.
We had 2 full bun sandwiches to go. The meat was packaged in large styro containers, with at least 1lb of meat for each sandwich. Both the meats were nicely smokey and moist. The buns were good, about 12 inches long. Fries were good, could have used a little salt. The coleslaw was good, lightly dressed, fresh and crunchy ( I put it on my sandwich). The beans didn't taste homemade, but were acceptable, could have used a little bit larger container. Not that we really needed more food... The restaurant itself was nicely set up, clean and comfortable, with 2 big screen TVs if you are eating in. Suggestion: They should provide extra BBQ sauce on the table, and on the side with takeout order. Will definitely return.
I had the pulled pork sandwhich, and it was just ok. The portion is very big, the pork is good, but the bbq sauce is bland from what i can taste, it was not tangy, or sweet or sour. It tasted like pork juice. Maybe if the bbq sauce was good the sandwhich would have been so much better.
First off WOW! The size of the pulled pork on a bun is enough for 2 people! AND tastes amazing to say the least. I went there 3 days ago just to try their corn bread muffins and came out with 25$ worth of food and I don't regret any of it. The staff is super friendly, Chris himself answers any questions you have. I asked what is in the summer salad, and he was joking with me the whole time. The Buns (pulled pork, roast beef or pulled chicked) have to be ATLEAST a pound. HUGE. and for 6.22$ for a meal including fires, baked beans and salad is an awesome deal! I suggest you check it out!
