This is an awesome place. The best spaghetti and meatballs we've ever had, and the fettucine Alfredo - delicious!! These people are the real deal...the food is homemade and yummy, the service is stellar and heartwarming, and the ambience is charming and intimate. We are from Toronto but will definitely be back!
I just celebrated my wife putting up with me for 25 years by taking her to dinner at Mattina's Cucina. It was an outstanding meal and the service was perfect. Shame on us for not coming here more often, as it had been a few years since our last visit, and this great value of a place is in our own backyard. Shop Local Georgetowners! Nice job chef Paul!

I have been wanting to try this Restaurant for the last couple of years. It is open for lunch during Christmas and I visited there today with my co-worker. It has a very homey atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious!! I am going back next week!! Kudos to Paul and his staff.
If you choose not to try Mattina's you will be missing out on great food for a great price. We had quite the opposite exeperience of the other fellow. We went on a Wednesday and it was busy (12-15) other people in a restaurant that accomodate maybe 40-50. The atmosphere always feel very cozy and private. The tables are well space and situated. The food was delicious and the owners were both on the floor looking after their guests which was awesome. I have never had anything but a great meal....I wasn't able to finish my penne and asked to take a very small serving home because I wanted to try it. Kindly the owner added some extra too it so my husband could really have a taste! Too bad for the other fellow but if you choose to not go to Mattina's then it will you will be missing out....For us it was nothing short of great. It was nothing short
This place should be called Mattina's Cucina Warehouse ! It was so noisy ,we gave up trying to talk to each other . The dining room is very small, and cramped ...atmosphere.? well , there is none ! When I remarked to the owner about how noisy it was, his response was ..." Well BUDDY, you better not go to an Italian wedding then ! " If you are a friend of the owners it seems that you get friendly warm service ... but because it was our first time there , we felt like we were intruders at a private party .. The food was very good and served in a timely manner, although my steak was tough . The rest of the meal was very good . I had both the soup and the warm salad and a very good Banana desert .. All were top notch. I guess Tuesday is a busy day for them ... I felt rushed and ignored . Overall, not a good first experience. I doubt we'll go back.
The very best food is served here, no matter what Italian restaurant we try we always come out sayint, "should have gone to Mattina's. The warm salad is lick your plate good, always good soup, great pasta choices. Extremely friendly service. Reasonably priced.
The food was excellent as was the service. Will go back again and again. It can be hard to get a reservation however, that's because the food is so good. My advise book ahead and early :)
In response to the folks who have not actually been to Mattina's but gave it one star, we have been to Paul's many times and have never had a problem booking a table. If you leave your name and number Paul gets back to you asap. As for the food...it is always top notch, lick the plate good!! Thanks Paul for all those wonderful meals. Lynn and Richard
One of our favorite Italian restaurants! Pasta and sauces always fresh. Calamari to die for. Usually order off the "Special Board". Other then calamari, something different every time
First I will say that I have high expectations of an Italian restaurant because I live in the Corsa Ittalia neighbourhood in Toronto where we have many great Italian resturants. Overall the food here was very good, although I would say that the bruschetta was just adequate and my husband agreed. I would suggest adding a thin paste of black olive tapenade to the bread before adding the tomatoes (so yummy). The warm fruit and nut salad, the broccoli soup and the gnocchi were all very good. The decor could be updated, but the owners were very friendly and the food was good. I would recommend this restaurant.
We love the personal service we ALWAYS get at Paul and Cheri's. They cater to my 3 yr old daughter and make her feel very special, the spagetti and meatballs will satisfy the pickiest kid! I can't order anything other than the tenderloin with gorgonzolla cream sauce...I love it! The price mark-up on the wine is fair also.
calamari was very chewy( definitely not cooked properly ) chicken was very dry and bland I ordered my steak medium rare it was welldone vegetables were fine tiramisu was good wine was okay service was a little slow
Thanks Paul for a wonderful night. As usual everything was fantastic. You made us feel like we were the most important people in the restaurant. As always, great food, great atmosphere, great value and great service. The added touches you provide are hard to find anywhere else. We always come away appreciating the fact that such a great restaurant is so close to home in Georgetown. See you soon.
First time to Mattina's. Service was excellent. The calamari was chewy alsmost like the oil wasn't hot enough when it went in. The stuffed chicken was bland and a little dry. My husband said the steak was average. The sides were perfectly cooked not too hard, not too soft and very tasty. Dessert was excellent and again service was great. Definatly put the effort into the food, with a few minor changes this would definatly be on our list of favourites in g'town.

I ordered the Risotto Primavera, which was very good although a tiny bit dry and the Rib Eye had excellent flavour was not cooked to order. We ordered Med Rare and it came Med - Med Well. House wine which was standard, same with the coffee and tea. Home made Tiramisu was very good. Service was very friendly, professional and the chef circulated througout the dining room talking with guests and making sure everything was good. Very nice atmosphere.
Lets face it ,its hard to find those places were they actually care about you and your meal. It's obvious these people take pride in their product. the Flavors and the pesentation are excellent, not to fancy but just right.great atmosphere, music and to top it off home-made desserts, what a treat, not a larocca.. make a reservation they are small and from what the owner says georgetown eats on Fridays and Saturdays.
Food is always wonderful, the owner/chef always visits the table to discuss the meal - very great service. We go at least 8 times a year. Make a reservation or you may not get a table - small restaurant.
We have never been disapointed. We have become regular customers.
