Lovely champion schnitzel. I really enjoy this combine with ceasar salad. The service was on time for my pick up, which is nice. It was a nice experiennce with Metro Restaurant.
We had a very bad experience in this restaurant. We stopped here for lunch for the first time and I wish we didnt...we sat down to be served. When the waiter came, he started off saying how there is nothing on the menu he can give us because everything is cooked in the same oil as pork. Since we wear a headcover as we are muslim, he undirectly told us to leave..When I looked on the menu I saw they have soups and fish. He told me the fish and all of the meat, chicken, fries fried in the same oil.
Many styles of schnitzel at fair prices. excellent food, huge portion, everything is made from scratch. great value. atmosphere warm and welcoming. Absolutely will back very soon.
Shared the scnitzel platter with my mother and we had lots of leftovers to take home. The schnitzel is very good and the service was fine. Will go back to this place because it's just one of those places that you go back to. Decor could use a refresh.
Well...First the food is amazing! The portions are huge! i always take some home. The service is good! Its nothing fancy but the food makes up for it. i have nothing bad to say about it!!
We had the metro platter. It was hot and delicious and the schnitzel wAs the best. Don't know what they do to the perogies but they are the best I have had EVER !!!!!!
Quaint atmosphere. Great schnitzel. First time eating here and it was very good food. Thought we would try since it was Oktoberfest and we were quite happy. My wife loved the red cabbage. Old school type restaurant.
The food was very good and big portions! But the server was rude and mean, one of the ladies had allergies to wheat and wanted ribs instead, she was told they were out of ribs, my brother ordered a drink no olives for it, we ordered water with lime no limes, my kids didn't get there drinks had to go look for the server every time we needed something, my youngest need a booster seat we had to walk through the rest. to find one. Over all it wasn't the best service and would never go back !
The food was very good, you can tell it's a tried and true recipe. Of course, they are known for their schnitzel. However - the restaurant itself was very old and tiny! It was very cramped and everything in it was dingy and dark. The service was great and the waiter made sure to check up on us a few times :)
Food was okay, schnitzel better than average, but not as good as the Concordia Club. I was there in January and we had to keep our winter coats on. Food is better than the below average decor.
We were a group of six and were advised to go to the Metro by one of our coworkers who said that this was the best place for schnitzel. It was fantastic. The schnitzel was light and crispy. the decor is very cute and homey and the service was really fast and friendly considering it was so busy the night we were in. The waitress did a good job in recommending the platters for our table and we also had pints of Pilsner which she told us was a beer from her country and the owners who we were told were from the Czech.Rep. Overall it was a great time and we will be back to try more of the delicious schnitxel
When I'm not up to making my own schnitzel, this is the only place that I would consider to give me a satisfying schnitzel. Their Caesar Salad is also very delicious, but sometimes they can put too much dressing on it. Everything is made from scratch and you can really taste it. I have a nut allergy and because the food is made from scratch, this is one of the few restaurants that I can eat dessert at. If you are going to just order the Vienna schnitzel, I suggest to save your money and just order the small. One time a friend ordered the large while I ordered the small; my piece was bigger and I paid less! Regardless of what you order, the portion sizes are HUGE and you will usually have to take some home. Most of the time I have had good service, but there have been a few occasions where the waitress seemed to have been annoyed or looked down at me and my party. I'm not sure if it is because we are younger than their normal patrons (we're university students), but the food is enough to keep me coming back. For choice of potatoes, you definitely need to try the home fries.
We heard about this restaurant from our friends who said the food was great and we are always looking to try new food so we went on a Tues afternoon. We we seated by a great looking blond waitress and we knew right away we made the right choice. We are three big guys and big eaters she told us to order two of the platters for two and we also ordered three pints of Pilsner Urquell which was awsome beer!!! The food was fantastic and our waitress was witty and fun. It's a cozy place and we will be back soon!!!!
I love schnitzel and I just visited the area and someone told us about this restaurant. I am of Czech origin so the cozy restaurant reminded me of home. The food was so yummy and all homemade. The service was so friendly. The lady that served us was very pleasant and the portions were HUGE!!!
Great food atmosphere and service Best Schnitzel in town!!!!! Great soup and best cabbage rolls and great selection of beer including Pilsner Urquell on tap
We went in to this restaurant on a Sunday, and it was an extremely hopping litte place. I was a little scared to take my parents to this restaurant considering the past reviews, but they must have changed something up because I didn't observe any problems at all... We had to wait a few minutes for a table though, but it was well worth the wait. We received huge portions, great beer, speedy service from our waiter, and an overall good experience. Expect me to return!
Good food with large portions but awful service! It's a shame the blonde waitress is so rude it really turned us off eating there, i doubt we will eat there ever again. Food is well priced and comes with a good variety of sides, the perogies are one of the best i have ever had! This place really needs to improve on service, the waiter setting the table next to us dropped a fork on the floor picked up and placed it on the table he didn't even clean it! ( yuck)
I have drove by the Metro yesterday because I saw the sign Best Schnitzel in Town! I have never been so I decided to call my parents who happen to love schnitzel and off we went. The restaurant has a cozy feel it kind of reminded me of the restaurants that I have been to in Europe, its not overly fancy or anything but it sure lives up to its standards of having the best schnitzel!!. The service was quick and efficient and very polite. The waitress was not overly annoying like in some other restaurants. Its just one of those simple restaurants that serve huge portions and great food. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends. Try the platter for two it is huge and will feed a family of three with plenty of leftovers!!!!
I thought the service was great and the food was so good it's a local establishment and I have been going to the Metro for years and the everything has always been super. I always order the schnitzel with the creamy mushroom sauce and have a Staropramen beer. I was at the Metro last Sat and I took my parents who are of european origin and we had a nice chat with one of the waitresses about her living in Europe. Overall it was a great time!
