I visited on April 1st with a friend of mine and we both enjoyed the meals the young lady that served us was very nice and came to the table often, the decor is very nice and they have a good wine list, overall a very pleasant experience.
Wonderful food as always. My husband entertains clients there all the time and i am lucky enough to tag along. Its exciting to know that there are great chefs in the north without having to travel too far south and thats not just Churchills. The calamari with beans and sausage was so interesting. I've never had truffle mushroom risotto until our last visit and i can't wait to have it again! Overall everyone at our table left with a smile. Can't wait to return.
We are not from North Bay but have vacationed in the area for several years. For our anniversary this year we decided to try Churchill's as I heard about it from others. Well I must say that we were very disappointed. The atmosphere was not at all what I expected. We went on a Friday night and were placed in the room where the piano player was. Beautiful music but the piano was far too loud for any of us in the same room. Also, we were placed at a table for two that was right beside their bar area. We were able to enjoy the loud sound of the mixer several times and the loud talk of the bar patrons. Not very fine dining atmosphere! The food was nothing special. I have been to several fine dining restaurants in other cities and this really is not fine dining. The prime rib was dry and tasteless. Our service was poor. The server asked how our meal was but literally was running past us as she asked! She didn't even keep our wine glasses filled. We had to fill our own!! Unheard of in any fine dining restaurant I've been to. I would never go back and I will not recommend this to anyone. What a waste of time and money. I don't mind spending money on fine food -- but I felt very cheated by my experience at Churchill's.

I have been going to Churchills for years to celebrate special occassions. Although many menu items intrigue me, I just can't pass up the gnocchi! I encourage everyone to try it... it's absolutely amazing. (Plus it's the least expensive dinner item on the menu!) I have ordered it numerous times... in both full-size and half-size orders, and only once was it a tad bit less than perfection (too salty). Churchills' ambiance is lovely, especially when they feature a pianist, and I always look forward to the complimentary hummus and selection of bread as a starter.
I took my wife and her out of town parents to Churchills for her birthday and was treated to a wondeful evening. My father-in-law is a tough critic when it comes to food and service and he was impressed with the entire night. We all agreed that this was the best meal we have had in a very long time. The steak and scallops i had were cooked perfectly and my wife will be attempting to mimic the sauces at home for months to come. If only we could have them cater to our guests every week. Unfortunately Churchillls is something we can only enjoy a few times a year.
Very nice food, service & ambiance looking out over Lake Nipissing. The pan-fried gnocci was incredible; better than anything I've had in good Italian restaurants in the GTA.
I took valued customers to Churchill's for dinner and we were not disappointed. The service was prompt, friendly and impeccable. If I had one complaint it was that my steak was served medium when I asked for medium rare. Not a huge deal as this detail can be highly subjective. The quality and flavour of the meat was very good. A great place for a special occaision, unexpected treat or an important business dinner.
I love to eat lol and this is the tops of restaurants in town for a reason. I wish we could go back more than once every valentines day! By far the best pasta i have had in a long time. The homemade breads(i think?) and chocolate mousse cake was amazing!!!
We have been going to Churchills for many years, and the food and service has always been pleasant and delicious. The bison was cooked perfect and tender and the calamari dish was something the city is lacking...flavorful, fresh and non breaded! My Wife was extremely happy to see that the soup de jour was her favorite on this night...Goatcheese, sweet potato and pinenut. The creme brulee(which was a lot cheaper than "$15") was a great nightcap seeing as neither one of us drink. Overall our experience was the same as always...a wonderful evening and a reason why we continue to take the 2 hour trip north.
I almost puked after I was served this meal, the meat was very very Well done, I wanted Medium Well. It's likeThey stuck it on the sun than put it on my plate. The Servers didn't even notice me!
In my review below I forgot about the Creme Brule my wife was served. This review is only for that dish. It probably deserves it's own review because I think we were served the worst Creme Brule to ever be served in the world. The top was charred and crustated. Basically, a thin layer of burntness. This was followed by what can be best described as soup. Unfortunately, nobody went down to the local Grocery store and bought the chef a box of Creme Brule mix just to show him what the dessert is reasonably supposed to look like. I can't believe it got out of the kitchen. For the $18 charged, maybe the chef can take some french lessons and learn that Creme means cream in english - not soup.
Ceaser salad was impressive, very large! Prime Rib was done just the way I like it. Service was great, waitress was very personable. Owner was very nice also, some may get a strange vibe from him. Only complaint would be the biscuit served with the main course, very bland.
A VERY PLEASANT EVENING WITH GOOD FOOD - WE ENJOYED IT.
I heard good things about this place. Unfortunately, I guess I expected too much...I found the whole experience was just "okay".

I've been to this restaurant numerous times, and it is my favourite one to go to in North Bay. The flavour/quality of the steak has not always been consistent(sometimes a 10, sometimes a 6), but I suppose that can happen anywhere. My only complaint is that the grand piano can be a bit loud if you are sitting too close to it.
This was awful. The Owner was rude, the food was disgusting and, It was simply horrible. Do not go, Please.
Food- It wasn't up to my expectations my entrée lacked the “wow“ factor and the beef wasn‘t prepared properly. Ambiance-I like the cozy atmosphere. Service- Service was pleasant. The place is very dim I have heard that when the lights are on the carpet looks filthy...maybe you should change it.
Fantastic, it was our 29th wedding anniversary and Churchill's was recommended. We were not disappointed. The service from everyone was great, the bartender the server the person making sure our water was always full and taking those empty dishes away without us noticing, even the others servers were pleasant. I just loved everything, and please let's not forget the chef, the tenderloin was cooked to perfection. Jimmy was there and very pleasant but not in our face. Again thank you to all the staff at Churchill's for a wonderful evening.
