Wasted Space is a family-run art gallery infused into a bar- and café-like atmosphere. The concept of the space is based on an art show called Imaginarium that Diana Kedvessy’s fiancé, Matt Cerovich, had held in the past. The creative duo needed somewhere to hold the art show and Diana’s father was kind enough to let them make use of an empty space he had available. The show ended up being a hit and inspired Diana’s father to buy a piece of art from that show, which was titled “Dude Let’s Get wasted.”
“My dad handed me the piece of art, looked at me and said, ‘Wasted Space,’” recalls Diana. “That is where the name of the business was coined from. Since then the empty space has been turned into an art haven for creative minds.” Along with being able to check out local artists’ work, Wasted Space is fully liquor licensed and is a hot venue for live events. “There are so many good bands in our city and that’s something we like to incorporate into Wasted Space as well,” says Diana.
