Great food, great service!
Awesome restaurant, excellent customer service and the perfect place to enjoy a meal with family, friends or someone you care about. Definitely going back if I ever get the chance again.
Their bon bon is not as fatty as most other places, such as Oriental Garden. The food is pretty standard with a few exceptional dishes, such as their home made spring rolls and their soups. Nice friendly staff and good service.
$50 take out order, we ate a quarter of it and threw the rest out. S&S shrimp OK, as for the rest, we couldn't tell the difference between the grey beef and broccoli, the tasteless BBQ pork chow mein and the (very little) chicken guy ding.
Eddy Lee's is our favourite Chinese restaurant. The food is always great. They always add lots of meat /seafood in their meat/seafood dishes. The bon bons and chicken balls are the best in town. We usually get take out, but have eaten inside a few times.
The daily special at EL's is a good lunch with just what you need to refuel. The Sweet and Sour sauce is really well done. The chicken balls never scrimp on the chicken... The eggrolls are well made too.
Been to Eddy Lee's many times before, and it's one of my favourites. It's in a great location, because it's 5 minutes fro my house, and it's got some of the best Chinese food in Thunder Bay. The server is really nice and I'm positive she knows my name by now. I've recently become a vegetarian and she's very helpful when I'm look for some yummy vegetable dishes. The delivery service is a bit slow, but man, is it worth the wait. The actual restaurant is very generic and the atmosphere is a bit lacking. It's got your typical Chinese decorations, and it's a bit tired looking. All in all the food is great, the service is awesome, but the restaurant itself could use a facelift.
Short one here, went tonite and ordered beef and greens. I guess they cant afford to give you beef because I only recieved a minimal amount. and at 10.00$ plus for the entree i was not too happy. Not sure if i am willing to spend that much again for the 1oz of beef they gave me.
If you like chicken balls and sweet and sour sauce, this won't disappoint. There is lots of chicken and not all that much breading. The Chop Suey is really good too. A nice neighborhood place with friendly staff.
Ordered for delivery...it took longer than 45 minutes that was predicted but the food was fine, standard chinese fare. Beef and greens had plenty of yummy vegetables and the beef was very soft. This is a really dependable restaurant for a standard dinner for two.
The food was amazing and the servers were friendly. Portion were big and lots of leftovers for the next day. The Bon Bons are the best in town. Definately will eat there again! Prices are reasonable.
All in all, it was OK. I'm a college student not originally from TBay who likes to travel extensively and is very passionate about her food! I am also of asian descent and I am always trying the various different asian restaurants around town hoping to get my fix and feel a bit more at home. Having eaten asian style cooking all my life, I really can only give Eddy Lee's an OK. Living in Canada for the last few years I've grown accustomed to the Canadian Chinese staples of chicken balls and bon bons, but even these standard fares could have been a bit better. The shrimp unfortunately tasted like it was definitely frozen a bit too long and then left out a bit too long after thawing - although this is a problem I find all over the city and is not unique to Eddy Lee's (I chalk it up to the fact that TBay can be a bit remote and doesn't seem to get the freshest food all that often). The fried rice and spring rolls were forgettable. The service was OK, the waitress was simply impersonal even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Our food also seemed to come out slowly even though the place was not busy. Again, the food was OK, and the price is slightly less than the average around town for chinese. Chinese in town is characteristically not cheap however, so why not pay a bit more and get better food?
Looking forward to returning! Great food, large portions, the deep fried items weren't soggy and the bon bons were juicy. Staff was excellent but seemed a little forgetful... I think it was a new waiter though.
Excellent service, great tasting food, and friendly atmosphere.
classic chinese food for many years.Excellent bon bons and chicken chow mein.Prices above average.
