Dr. Oksana Pikh knows full well that dentists "aren't usually the kinds of doctors everyone looks forward to seeing." But the owner of Grenadier Dental Clinic is doing her best to change that. "We do all we can to put smiles on people's faces," she says.
Indeed, when Grenadier opened in 2005 on the ground floor of its namesake retirement centre in Toronto's Bloor West Village, it made many seniors smile. After all, they no longer had to venture far for dental care. "Having us move in came as quite a relief to many of these older people," Oksana says.
Her previous practice, also on the subway line in the upscale Yorkville district, earned Oksana many loyal patients, most of whom stayed with her. Her biggest task, then, involved expanding the clinic's services to suit its new location in a more family-oriented part of town.
