I had been to JJ Japanese Thai beforehand and was never disappointed. This was my third visit and I was more than pleased. The restaurant was nicely decorated with beautiful table linens, wall decorations, and pillows. The servers were kind and attentive. Our server, whose name was Alina, was so kind and friendly, she asked us if there was anything we needed on a consistent basis and also provided free ice cream for being such great customers! This place is awesome!!! The restaurant is small but cozy. There was only 1 woman running the show up front and it got quite crowded by late afternoon, but I was impressed by her level of service. We had the mango salad which was bursting with flavor and very originally put together. Even my wife agreed it was deserving of 5 stars. Yes, plates of food sometimes arrives a few minutes apart from each other, and that is because they are prepared FRESH with no shortcuts!!! All the staff members are really enthusiastic and they make careful accommodations to suit my personal taste. Since I have zero tolerance with spicy foods, they prepared my food accordingly without reducing the deliciousness of it. I was a little disappointed in the food, since most of the food I got was of a worrisome temperature. Things like the chicken breast and pork on skewers were barely warm, and I was having troubles telling if the fresh vegetables were even cooked. Since I don't like to send food back, I didn't. Overall I would say this is the best restaurant for a date in Etobicoke! The atmoshere was excellent, there was a large selection of food, the food was tasty, the service was excellent and we were able to stay for 4 hours without being rushed out at any point!
