“Almost limitless.” That’s how clear float spa owner Bryce Weeks describes the benefits of float therapy. Discovering this relaxation technique – in which customers float in an enclosed, saltwater-filled tank without light or sound stimuli – helped Bryce re-connect with his personal passion for meditation. It's a passion that a career in sales and marketing had hampered. “I was not meditating as much as I wanted to, but then I discovered float therapy and, instantly, I could get back into a deep, meditative state,” he says. He was so impressed by float therapy's powers that he opened clear float spa in Calgary’s Mission district in May, 2016.
Bryce says float therapy is not only “an incredible tool for meditation,” but that it can also help with anxiety, depression, stress reduction, fibromyalgia, muscular injury and chronic pain. “A lot of executives use float therapy to alleviate the stress of living in a fast -paced world," he explains. "Shift workers use it to promote better sleep. Athletes use it to visualize. You can even use float therapy to stimulate creativity. It is also very popular with expectant mothers. Float therapy provides an environment in which they can get relief from lower back pain and have an opportunity to connect with their babies."
