Jill Burk is the founder of Your Health Span. The name of her massage-and-wellness spa is a riff on the phrase “life span.” “The idea of being able to live a long life is only valuable if you can live a healthy life. We want to make people healthier for longer,” says Jill, adding that Your Health Span serves many seniors.

Jill founded Your Health Span in 2007. She had just married a widower with two young children and the new mother wanted to do something that would allow her to work around her children’s schedules. And so, she created Your Health Span. As her business has grown, Jill has made a point of hiring single moms and immigrants who need flexible, part-time work schedules.

Your Health Span offers in-home treatments, and clients can also visit Jill's studio space on the upper floor of Market on Macleod, where she offers a “rockin’ deal” on 60-minute massage sessions. Jill notes that Your Health Span accepts WCB claims and can direct bill insurance companies.

Staff also do hotel calls, as Your Health Span has partnerships with about 20 hotels in and around Calgary, including Hotel Elan and Azure Ridge, near Priddis.

    Sahira is so awesome, it was a very deep tissue massage, which I really really needed. I would strongly recommend going in to see her. They also go to peoples homes and my friend Kim who told me about them has someone go to her house, and she raves and raves about it.
