Long before Chris and Cindy Meyer took over North Shore Sports Swap, Chris remembers shopping at the store at the original location on Lower Mountain Highway. “Both of us had several years of sales experience in the flooring business,” he says. “I also had a background in the bicycle industry. So when the opportunity came along to purchase the store, it seemed like a good fit.”
Chris was drawn to this store for the same reasons his repeat customers are: economically priced gear. “We make it affordable so families can get into sporting goods,” he says. “When you have children, it can cost a lot of money to be involved with sports activities.” Parents in the area will often take in their children's used equipment, sell it on consignment, and spend that money on equipment for next season. “We're almost like a recycling facility,” jokes Chris.
