Like many great entrepreneurial ideas, it started over a pint or two. Over a few beers, Steveston natives Justin Brow and Graham Barlow kicked around ideas about opening their own taphouse.
“I had worked for 16 years at a local pub, going from bartender to management,” says Justin. “I always wanted to do something on my own.”
Justin and Graham had crossed paths at the pub and the like-minded duo began discussing the local beer scene in Steveston.
“I was a patron at the pub … Justin and I would love to talk about what we liked and didn’t like about bars,” says Graham, whose day job is as a Richmond firefighter.
“When we found out this space was up for rent, we thought it was perfect for that New York style taphouse we both envisioned,” adds Justin.
In the summer of 2018, the Steveston Built Local Taphouse + Grill was born.
