“I was traveling in the Caribbean Islands waiting for paperwork to come through to be a legal citizen, when a friend invited me to work with him back in France,” says John Foy, owner of Blue Sky T-Shirts. “That was in 1977. We came to Montréal and set up shop as a screen printing business in 1979.”
The first seven years in the screen-printing business in Canada were a little topsy-turvy for John: business partners fell out, contracts were gained, a move to Vancouver was made and then a few disputes led John to open his own shop: Blue Sky T-Shirts. “When we moved to Vancouver and set up shop in 1985, one of the first things I did was bring a line of wildlife prints on t-shirts," says John. "It was very popular in the USA and I introduced it to Canada in 1986.”
