In 2009 Tyler Quantz and Claire Hutchings spent a lot of time making the rounds of Vancouver toy stores pretending to be parents. “We were thinking about having kids and we wanted to open a business together so we were looking for opportunities to combine those things,” explains Tyler. Not finding what they envisioned encapsulated in any one place, they brought their vision of the importance of play to life when they opened Dilly Dally Kids in 2010.
Dilly Dally focuses on fun toys that inspire creative play, imagination and skill development. Tyler and Claire feel strongly about creative play as “a lot of mainstream toys focus on branding and telling kids how to play with the toy. One thing that's going to set people apart as adults is people who can think. Creative, imaginative thinking is key to raising a successful adult.”
