Even after they’ve left the Church Street neighbourhood, customers of Dudley’s Hardware Paint & Décor keep returning for their home improvement needs. The family business has been running since 1934 and owner Steven Dawson has made sure that the values that were there from the start are just as strong today. This certainly suits his customers. “We’re an old-style hardware store which is why we have customers for life,” he says. “We’re all about customer service. It’s not just about the transaction.”
Steven knows firsthand what’s involved when you fix up a property so he knows where you’re coming from – whatever your query or home improvement need. “I grew up with a farming background and we were always doing our own repairs for everything. My dad built his own houses and I used to be a handyman.”
