I was compelled to write something. We pop into this cafe about 3 times a month.. We love that it is local, friendly, and food is always fresh. In all the times we've visited I think we've not liked one item, and although it was personal preference the cafe still let us select something else with no extra charge. Staff were very eager to make all of us happy with our meals. I couldn't believe someone said it was dirty and tired because it is far from it. It's always spotless. I'm truely shocked. I suppose that is why most people don't care about reviews. OUr family recommends this place for lunch and dinner any day of the week!! I know they serve brunch but we don't usually go out for that meal so i cannot comment. I Lire plus

I really enjoyed my visit to the Parliament Pub, patio. I was there with my father and uncle on a visit to Ottawa. I was thrilled to be able to sit under a canopy of green, with a clear view of Parliament Hill, the Centennial Flame and of course the world famous Peace Tower! The service was great, the waiter was quite attentive and even came over a few times to ask us how the food was and did we need anything? We had bruschetta, which was very nice. Good fresh tomatoes and real cheese! Along with the bruschetta I had some creamy squash soup, it thick and hot, very flavourful! The salad was pretty with a nice vinagrette, the greens were crisp, as they should be! After lunch we just sat around sipping our coffee and enjoying the magnificent view. Of course we kept an eye out for some of the pols who like to hang around - trying to come with ways of reducing our taxes I am sure! LOL The coffee was good too, I am fussy about coffee and often don't like the tasteless drek so often served... After a quick tour inside to look at the political memorabilia and caricatures we left to continue our visit. I would recommend Parliament Pub to anyone who is visiting Ottawa. The is a good choice of well prepared and presented food for reasonable prices and they get it on to your table in time. Did I mention the view? Lire plus

I have been to Oz many times since it opened and I am never disappointed! The lychee martinis are what brings me in, but the food is really delicious as well. The cheese plate is great for snacks...often I go with a group of people and we just order a bunch of plates to share (edamame another one of our favourites). The owner (Oz) is so sweet and the atmosphere is cozy and chic. Definitely one of my preferred places on Elgin! Lire plus
